Martha was married in her parent's home in Little Rock.  Started going by the first name of "Martha" in the early 1940s.  She resided in Ft. Myers, Florida in the early 1940s (Perry Snell, Jr.)

George Richardson RILEY [Parents] [scrapbook] 1 was born 2, 3 on 23 Feb 1919 in Arkansas. He died 2, 4 on 2 Nov 1972. George married 2, 4, 5 Eleanor Jean NUNN on 8 Mar 1941 in Little Rock, Pulaski Co., Arkansas.

Shot down in a B-17 over Germany in WWII and was a prisoner of war.  Became well-known in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, after the war where he operated his own butane gas business (Reflections of Ashley County, p. 376).

Eleanor Jean NUNN [Parents] 1, 2, 3 was born 2 on 30 Jul 1919 in Little Rock, Pulaski Co., Arkansas. She died 2 on 29 Dec 2004 in Little Rock, Pulaski Co., Arkansas. Eleanor married 1, 2, 3 George Richardson RILEY 4 on 8 Mar 1941 in Little Rock, Pulaski Co., Arkansas.

  Eleanor N. Riley, 85, of Little Rock, formerly of Pine Bluff, died at home Dec. 29, 2004. Born July 30, 1919, in Little Rock to Abel Nelson and Carrie Embree Nunn, she was reared in Little Rock, graduating from Little Rock High School in 1936. She married George R. Riley in 1941 in Little Rock. Mr. Riley died in 1972. She made her home in Pine Bluff for 45 years where she was an owner and operator of George Riley Gas Co. In Pine Bluff she was a member of First Baptist Church, Beta Sigma Phi and several bridge clubs.

  Dr. Ralph Lee Douglas, 99, of Pine Bluff, died on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006.
   Born in Springfield (Conway County), on April 7, 1906, he was a son of Robert Lee and Martha Antha (Walker) Douglas. He attended high school in Morrilton and England, graduating from high school in Wewoka, Okla. He attended College of the Ozarks and graduated from what is now Ouachita Baptist University. He was in business in Lake Village for five years where he owned a grocery store and automobile agency, farmed, and was music director at his church.
   He began preaching in 1939 and pastored several churches in Arkansas and Kentucky. He served 10 years on the board of trustees for Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Ky. He graduated with a doctorate in theology from seminary in 1945. He joined the Arkansas Baptist State Convention as associate executive secretary and business manager, where he worked for 18 years, serving five years on their board’s administrative committee and as first vice president of the convention. He helped organize Frontier Life Ins. Co., International Mercantile Co. and Universal Holding Co., serving on the executive committees of those boards for 25 years without missing a meeting. He also ran a butane gas company and 500-acre soybean and rice farm.
   He served as chaplain of the Arkansas National Campers and Hikers Association for 18 years, was chaplain of the Arkansas Good Sam Campers, and was a member of Campers on Mission and served as their president for two years.  Serving on a committee with Dr. Morris Ashcroft, Dr. Daniel Grant, Dr. H.E. Williams, and Dr. W.O. Vaught, they raised $5,000,000 for Ouachita Baptist University and Williams Baptist College.
   During his ministry he preached in 112 revivals with 2,006 conversions, conducted 204 stewardship revivals and clinics and held 12 interim pastorates. A deacon and member of First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, he served as assistant teachers of The Pastor’s Sunday School Class and sang in the church choir. A 32nd-degree Mason, he was a member of the West Pine Bluff Rotary Club and the Jefferson County, Pulaski County and Phillips County historical societies.

Georgia Elizabeth YELVINGTON [Parents] 1, 2, 3 was born 3, 4 on 2 May 1889 in Ashley Co., Arkansas 5. She died 6, 7 on 20 May 1972 8 in Houston, Harris Co., Texas 8. She was buried in Lacey Cemetery, Drew Co., Arkansas 8. Georgia married 1, 3 Charles F. LEWIS "Charley" 1, 3 on 27 Aug 1916 in Ashley Co., Arkansas.

Finis A. STORY [Parents] [scrapbook] 1, 2 was born 3, 4 on 27 Jan 1884 in Texas. He died 3, 4 on 11 Nov 1945 5 in Kilgore, Rusk Co., Texas 5. He was buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Texas 5. Finis married 1, 2 Susan Anna YELVINGTON "Susie" on 9 Jul 1920 in Ashley Co., Arkansas.

From Finis' 1918 WW I Registration Card, he is noted as being of "medium height and slight build" with "gray eyes and brown hair."  At this time he is residing in Houston, Texas, where he is self-employed as a farmer.  (See the "scrapbook" link with the multi-media version of this report).

Susan Anna "Susie" YELVINGTON [Parents] 1, 2, 3, 4 was born 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 on 19 Nov 1897 in Ashley Co., Arkansas. She died 2, 4 on 12 May 1996 in Longview, Gregg Co., Texas. She was buried 7 in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Rusk Co., Texas. Susie married 1, 3 Finis A. STORY 1, 3 on 9 Jul 1920 in Ashley Co., Arkansas.

SUSIE STORY
Rusk County-Services for Susie Story, 98, of Longview will be at 10 a m today at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Rusk County, with the Rev Homer Vogel officiating.  Services are under the direction of Radar Funeral Home of Longview.  Mrs. Story died Sunday in a local nursing home. She was born November 19, 1897 in Ashley County, Arkansas.  She lived in the Longview area since 1926, coming from Houston County.  Mrs. Story was a homemaker and a Christian.  She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Polk Story.  Mrs. Story is survived by her daughters, Mary Battaglia of Monroe, La., and Berneice Birdsong of Longview; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Ruben Alfrord "Rube" YELVINGTON [Parents] [scrapbook] 1, 2 was born 3, 4 on 18 Mar 1892 in Berea, Ashley Co., Akansas. He died 3, 5 on 13 Feb 1957 in East St. Louis, St. Claire Co., Illinois. He was buried 3 in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Ashley Co., Arkansas. Rube married 2, 6 Carrie E. HAYNES about 1923 in Houston Co., Texas.

- From Rube's 1917 WW I Registration Card, it is noted that he was of "medium height and stout build" with "blue eyes and auburn hair."  At this time, he is a farmer residing in Fountain Hill.  (See the "scrapbook" link with the multi-media edition of this report).

- 1920 Census:  Age 27 and single, living with parents in White Township, Ashley County, Arkansas
- 1930 Census:  residing on N. 53rd Street in East St. Louis, St. Clair Co., Illinois.  He was a "Car Inspector" for the "Steam Railroad" industry.

  Ruben Yelvington, age 64, former Hamburg resident, died at hi shome in East St. Louis Wednesday, February 13.  Mr. Yelvington was a retired railroad man.  He was a native of Ashley County and had been living in East St. Louis about 35 years.  He was a Baptist.
  Mr. Yelvington is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Yelvington,; one son, Ruben Yelvington, Jr. of East St. Louis, three brothers, Dan Yelvington, Hamburg; John Yelvington, Fountain Hill; Tom Yelvington, Benton; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Lewis, Fountain Hill, and Mrs. Susie Story of Longview, Texas.  Two grandchildren survive.
  Funeral services held at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, near Hamburg, at 2 p.m. Sunday by Revs. S. E. Powell and Billy Ralph Moore.  Pallbearers were: Zack Roberson, Jesse Cone, W. C. Atkins, Norwood Hill, Hudson Rogers, and Marvin Bankston.  Burial was to follow in the Mt. Olive cemetery with Jones Funeral Home in charge.
