Eva Lena TAYLOR [Parents] [scrapbook] 1 was born on 10 Jun 1884 1, 2 in Arkansas 2. She died on 11 Aug 1973 4, 5 in Pulaski Co., Arkansas 3, 4. She was buried in McFarland Cemetery, Bradley Co., Arkansas 6. Eva married John Joseph MCMURRY on 19 Jul 1903 3 in Clay, Bradley Co., Arkansas 3.

   Mr. and Mrs. John McMurry celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage at their home south of Banks last month. They were married fifty years ago this month in the home of Mrs. McMurry's father, who lived in North Oak Grove community north of Warren. They resided at North Oak Grove for some time, but moved to Banks in 1918. They've lived there since that time. Mr. and Mrs. McMurry have four children: L.E. McMurry of Warren, M.T. McMurry of Little Rock, Mrs. Glen Allison of Little Rock and Mrs. Russell Lilly of Banks, and six grandchildren.
   Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lilly live with her parents in their nice home in Banks. Mr. and Mrs. Lilly lived in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1939 through 1941 and moved on to Mobile, Alabama, for a short time prior to Mr. Lilly's entrance into the armed forces. Mr. Lilly works for the Warren Butane Company here in Warren. The Lilly's have one child, a little girl named Sandra.

James Arthur TROTTER Jr. [Parents] [scrapbook] 1 was born 1, 2 on 26 Sep 1914 3 in Douglas, Cochise Co., Arizona 3. He died 4 on 16 Jan 2005 3 in Walnut Creek, Contra Costa Co., California 3. He was buried in Lone Tree Cemetery, Alameda Co., California 3. Jim married Kathryn Isabel ALKIRE "Katy" on 14 Jul 1934 5.

   James was an intelligent and hard-working man. During his life he was a welder who worked on the Conchas Dam in NM, the Hanford Nuclearn Power Facility in Washington, Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond, CA and a steel mill in Provo, UT. He was also a salesman for the Linde Division of the Union Carbide Company. He also spent time in his early adult years dredging for gold in the Fresno River, but this pursuit was cut short when WWII broke out and gasoline began to be rationed.
   He could fix anything that needed fixing. He grew prize-winning camellias in the 1950's.
   He loved his family and provided well for them through his industry. He is missed by his daughter and granddaughters. [Linda Fluharty Myers]

JAMES ARTHUR FLUHARTY A ten-year resident of San Ramon, died Sunday, January 16, 2005, at the age of 90 years.  Beloved husband of the late Katy Fluharty, and son of the late James Trotter and Nina Fluharty, and stepson of the late William Fluharty.  Loving father and father-in-law of Linda A. and Lloyd Myers of San Ramon.  Devoted grandfather of Katie and husband, Patrick Pike, of San Ramon, and Shannon Myers of San Ramon.  Dear brother of William Fluharty of Cathey's Valley, Calif., Lorraine Shahan of Arizona, Lloyd Trotter of Hawthorne, and the late Gertrude Hammond, and Richard Fluharty.  Mr. Fluharty resided in Hayward from 1959 to 1995.  He was a retired employee of Union Carbide and a member of the Masonic Story Lodge of Provo, Utah.

Kathryn Isabel "Katy" ALKIRE 1 was born on 9 Jul 1917 2 in Dona Ana Co., New Mexico 2. She died 3 on 16 Feb 1985 in Hayward, Alameda Co., California. She was buried in Lone Tree Cemetery, Alameda Co., California 2. Katy married James Arthur TROTTER Jr. "Jim" 5 on 14 Jul 1934 4.

Raised on the premises of the El Paso Brick Company by her father who was the superintendant and her mother. Had 7 brothers. Parents came to NM from MO to secure a healthful place for Kathryn's aunt to recover from TB. Married James A. Fluharty in 1934 and they followed work opportunties during the depression through TX, NM, UT, WA, and eventually settling in the SF Bay Area. Mother of one child, Linda Ann. Adoring, exemplary mother who is held in the highest esteem. Died of heart attack too early [Linda Fluharty Myers].
