   Jeannette Fay Yelvington 43 passed away at Hamilton, Nov. 2, 2004. Mrs. Yelvington's life was filled with many fond memories from her childhood. While in high school, she and her friends spent many days riding horses and enjoying the unique blessings living in the country. It was evident to many that she would have a career in cosmetology. On numerous occasions she would invite friends from school to her house and spend afternoons giving hair cuts and exploring the gift she had for make-up and skin care.
   After graduating from Hamlton High School, she moved to Dallas where she attended cosmetology school.  Mrs. Yelvington worked as an esthetician in the Nieman Marcus downtown store in Dallas and she also worked in Ft. Worth. It was during these years that she met and married Lynn Lee and was blessed with her first son, Barrett. It was a few years after her marriage ended that she met and married Bob Yelvington and was blessed with a second son, Nicholas. Mr. Yelvington's life was ended tragically in a home accident leaving Mrs. Yelvington to raise her two sons. She had the unique ability to remember special days in the lives of those she loved. She rarely failed to send a card or gift for a birthday, anniversary, or some other special occasion as these days came around each year. She brought much joy to the lives of her family and friends as she celebrated special occasions with them.
   Even though she faced many great difficulties, Mrs. Yelvington never lost sight of the blessings which were hers. She was a loving and supporting mother who provided for her two sons and guided them through the difficult times they faced. Following a car accident, Jeannette was plagued with back and neck problems which caused much pain. With the focus on past injuries, those treating her did not realize that cancer was invading her body. A few short months ago when the cancer was final1y diagnosed, the doctors gave little hope. Even with little possibility for success, Jeannette fought a valiant battle. With the cancer progressing Mrs. Yelvington and her family realized there was little more that could be done. She trusted that God would not only take care of her but that He would also care for her two sons she was leaving behind.

  He was mentioned in a Court record 'ordered that the hands of William Neal work on the road under Thomas Christmas Overseer' on 29 Oct 1767 at Buffalo, Bute Co., NC.  As of 15 May 1777, he was also known as Lieut. Thomas Christmas.  He was mentioned in a deed on 2 Mary 1786 at Franklin Co., NC.  After writing my first book I found taht the court records show that Thomas was a Prosecutor in Warren County, NC court.  This information was entered into the court records on August 27th, 1801.
  He was deeded land by William Duke the 10th of February in 1770, on September 25th 1775 he purchased a 600 acre tract of land; in February of 1777 he sold 2 acres to John Davis and on the 20th of June, this same year he purchased 50 acres.
  He was also known as Captain William Thomas Christmas.
